2007-2008 Season

(Some of the dates may change or are not yet set for the Spring Quarter).

Cornhole/Bagz (Fall)

  • The Cornhole/Bagz Tournament will be held Monday, October 8th from 7-10PM in Patten Gym.
  • The tournament is open to men and women.
  • Registration is now open, and ends Monday, October 8th at 12PM. You can register by sending an email to Ryan Coleman, r-coleman@northwestern.edu.
  • Fornat: Each team will consist of two players.
  • It will be a single elimination tournament. Expect to play at any time.
  • Brackets and rules will be sent out Monday, October 8th by 4PM.
  • The winner(s) will receive an Intramural Champion T-Shirt and points toward "Team of the Year".

Table Tennis (Fall)

  • The Table Tennis Tournament will be held Monday, October 22nd from 7-10PM in the Norris GameRoom.
  • The tournament is open to men and women.
  • Registration: You can register on site for the Table Tennis tournament. Please be there by 7PM to register. If you have any questions regarding the Table Tennis tournament please send an email to Ryan Coleman, r-coleman@northwestern.edu.
  • It will be a single elimination tournament. Expect to play at any time.
  • The winner(s) will receive an Intramural Champion T-Shirt and points toward "Team of the Year".

Billiards (8-Ball) (Fall)

  • The Billiards Tournament will be held Monday, November 5th from 7-10PM in the Norris GameRoom.
  • The tournament is open to men and women.
  • Registration: You can register on site for the Billiards tournament. Please be there by 7PM to register. If you have any questions regarding the Billiards tournament please send an email to Ryan Coleman, r-coleman@northwestern.edu.
  • It will be a single elimination tournament. Expect to play at any time.
  • The winner(s) will receive an Intramural Champion T-Shirt and points toward "Team of the Year".

NCAA College Bowl Mania(Fall/Winter)

  • • Registration has begun for the 2007-2008 college football bowl games.
    • To register for the NCAA College Bowl Mania go to this site: http://games.espn.go.com/bowlmania/frontpage. If you do not have an ESPN account you will need to open one up. It is free of charge. The private league in NUIM and the password for the NUIM league is: wildcats
    • Rank each game from 1-32 in the order of your confidence in each winner. You assign 32 to the winner you are most confident in and 1 to the winner you have the lowest amount of confidence in. You can only assign each point value one time. You then receive your assigned point value each time you make a correct bowl pick. The winner is the person with the most points at the end of the bowl season, not necessarily the person with the most correct picks.
    • The NCAA College Football Bowl games begin Thursday, December 20th. All of your picks must be submitted by this date.
    • The rules and scoring system are on the ESPN web-site.
    • The winner(s) will receive an Intramural Champion T-Shirt and points toward "Team of the Year".

Sports Trivia Bowl (Winter)

  • The Sports Trivia Bowl will be held Wednesday, February 6th in Patten Gym, 5PM - 11PM. Games last 30 minutes.
  • You can register by sending an email to Ryan Coleman, r-coleman@northwestern.edu. The deadline to register is Wednesday, February 6th at 9AM.
  • It will be a single elimination tournament. Expect to play at any time.
  • Format: Each team will have 3 players competing at once. You may have up to 5 people on your roster.
  • Rules will be sent out with the brackets by noon on Wednesday.
  • The winner(s) will receive an Intramural Champion T-Shirt and points toward "Team of the Year".

3-Point Shoot-Out (Winter)

  • The 3-Point Shoot-out will be held Sunday, February 17th at 8PM in Blomquist Gym. The tournament is open to men and women.
  • Registration: You can register on-site for the 3-Point Shoot-out. We will register participants from 8PM - 8:15PM.
  • The top 8 scores will advance to a single elimination tournament.
  • The top 3 finalists will also compete at half-time of the NU vs. Iowa Men's Basketball game Tuesday, March 4th. The winner of the half-time event will win a motorola razr and $50 restaurant gift certificate.
  • The winner(s) will receive an Intramural Champion T-Shirt and points toward "Team of the Year".

Spring Break Splash (Winter)

  • Mark your calendar for the 2nd annual Northwestern Spring Break Splash. The event will take place Tuesday, March 4th at 7:30PM in the Norris Aquatics Center (SPAC). The Spring Break Splash will consist of two main events, the Belly Flop Contest and the Biggest Splash. To register, email Ryan Coleman, r-coleman@northwestern.edu. The deadline to register is Tuesday, March 4th at 12PM.
  • If you are registering from a fraternity, sorority, dorm, or res college, please only register four participants per event.
  • More information regarding rules and judging will be sent out to the participants after registration has ended.
  • The winner(s) will receive an Intramural Champion T-Shirt and points toward "Team of the Year".
  • OTHER GREAT PRIZES FOR THE EVENT:
  • The winner of the Biggest Splash will win an iPod Nano.
  • The winner of the Belly Flop Contest will win an American Airlines Travel Voucher.
  • The Spectator Grand Prize (raffle) will also win an American Airlines Travel Voucher.
  • The Party Prize (up to $220 toward Lou Malnati's) will be awarded to the contestant who brings the most spirited fans.
  • Other Door/Raffle prizes include free pizza, gift certificates to chipotle, movie certificates, iTunes gift cards, Chicago Cubs baseball tickets, and NU apparel. Spectators who come dressed in Spring Break attire will receive an extra raffle ticket.

NCAA Pick 'em (Winter/Spring)

  • Registration has begun for the 2008 NCAA College Basketball Pick'em. Go to the website provided below and follow the directions. If you do not have a CBS Sportsline account you will need to open one up. It is free of charge. Website: http://nuim.mayhem.sportsline.com/e
  • The password for the NUIM bracket is: wildcats
  • After you register, you can make your selections.
  • The NCAA basketball tournament begins Thursday, March 20th (play-in game not counted).
  • The rules and scoring system are on the CBSSportsline web-site.
  • The winner(s) will receive an Intramural Champion T-Shirt and points toward "Team of the Year".

Tennis Singles (Spring)

  • The Tennis Singles Tournament will be held Tuesday - Thursday, May 6th - 8th from 4-8PM at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center. The tournament is open to men and women.
  • Registration is open. You can register by sending an email to Ryan Coleman, r-coleman@northwestern.edu.
  • It will be a single elimination tournament. Expect to play at any time.
  • The winner(s) will receive an Intramural Champion T-Shirt and points toward "Team of the Year".

Golf Outing (Spring)

  • The Golf Outing will be held on Friday, May 30th at Highland Park Country Club.
  • The format will be an 18 hole, 4-Man Scramble.
  • $200 per team, $50 per person (includes golf cart). You can pay at the golf course.
  • Shotgun start begins at 1PM.
  • The deadline to register is Tuesday, May 20th at 12PM.
  • To register: Email Ryan Coleman, r-coleman@northwestern.edu with your 4-Man team.
  • Lunch will be provided.
  • There will also be prizes for longest drive, closest to the pin, longest putt, etc.
  • The winner(s) will receive an Intramural Champion T-Shirt and points toward "Team of the Year".

Home Run Derby (Spring)

  • The Home-Run Derby will be held on Thursday, June 5th at 3:30PM. The Home-Run Derby is open to men and women.
  • The Home Run Derby will be held at the new lakeside turf field.
  • Registration: You can register on-site for the Home-Run Derby. Please be there between 3:30PM and 4PM to register.
  • The top 8 hitters will advance to a single elimination tournament.
  • The winner(s) will receive an Intramural Champion T-Shirt and points toward "Team of the Year".
